• SOCIAL WORK:

The students are involved in social work activities both in B.A part I and B.A part II. The social work program was held during the month of Feb, 08. The students were divided into the following groups and categories; Gardening, Polishing, Sewing, Painting and Cleanliness according to their interest as per program of University of Peshawar. And all these students were given the opportunity to have civil defense training and first aid course.

• QUIZ COMPETITION:

In order to increase the knowledge of students about their religion and encourage them to read books, a Quiz Competition between Inter & Degree classes was held on 16th Feb, 2008. The students of B.A-II won the competition; their names are Ms. Hina Shah, Ms. Bushra Ali, Ms. Fatima Ismail, Ms. Farzana, Ms. Seema and Ms. Saima Naz.

• ENGLISH DEBATES CONTEST:

English debate contest was held on 4th March, 2008. Our students zealously participated in it. The topic was:

• When Money Speaks the Truth is Silent.

According to the critical analysis of the judges Ms. Mubashra Shahid of B.A-II got 1st position, Ms. Hira Anum of B.A-I got second position and Ms. Anum Gillani of B.A-II got 3rd position in debate contest.

• URDU DEBATES:

Urdu debate competition was held on 5th March, 2008. Students participated in it passionately. Ms. Irum Khan of B.A-I got 1st position, Ms. Sumera Gul of F.Sc-II secured 2nd position and Ms. Saika Akram of B.A-I got 3rd position to encourage the participants certificates were awarded.

• URDU POETRY COMPETITION:

To bring out the potentials in the field of poetry our college arranged a competition on 5th March, 2008. Ms. Aneela Akram of B.A-II secured 1st position. All participants were given certificates.

General Public Science Model Competition closing ceremony was held on 28th June, 2008 at Pakistan Forest Institute University Campus Peshawar.

Science Exhibition for the year 2010-11, which was held at Frontier College for Women Peshawar the students of said college have won the Ist position in the events of Qerat and in Geography (Model), while in the Zoology (Model) FEF DCG Dabgari grabbed the 3rd position. Moreover Peshawar Inter Collegiate Girls Sports Competition of B.I.S.E Peshawar for the year 2010-11, was held on 1st December 2010 for the event of Table Tennis in which students of the said college have participated and won the 3rd position. Also University of Peshawar Sports Competition 2010-11, which was held on the 27th of November 2010 students of the said college participated in the event of Table Tennis in which the students of the college also have won the 3rd prize. Inter College Gomal University D.I Khan annual sports competition was held on December 06-11, 2007. Syeda Ume Laila Hussain bearing Roll# 396 student of said college stood second in B.Sc-II Annual Examination 2008 in Gomal University by securing 441/550 marks and has been placed in first division.

Miss Noushin D/o Mir Bad Shah qualified Entry Test under ETEA & got admission in Fatima Jinnah Medical College Lahore. She remained student of this college in session 2007 & obtained 815/1100 marks under Roll# 20193 in BISE D.I.Khan Annual Examination.

Mrs. Sadia DPE of FEF Degree College for Girls Haripur organized a Seminar on Health & Physical Education to promote awareness among the college students about the importance of games and physical education. The Seminar was held on November 21, 2008 in the college hall, where all equipment relevant to sports was displayed.

Believing in that co-curricular activities play a pivotal rule in molding the personality of the students and enable them to acquire knowledge, develop concepts and inculcate skills, attitudes, values and habits conductive to the overall development of their personality, FEF Girls Degree College Haripur, conducts Quiz Programs and seminars on weekly bases.

On 29th of November, 2008 the Proctorial Board of FEF College Haripur organized a ceremony related to the selection of Proctors and distribution of sashes and badges among the Proctors and class Reps.

A Poster and Painting Competition was held under the auspices of National Accountability Bureau, Peshawar. Three poster/paintings of FEF DCG Hayatabad were sent to competition. Miss Ammara Rahim Gul (B.A I) of FEF DCG Hayatabad  got first position at country level while Miss Faiza Javed(F.Sc II) of FEF DCG Hayatabad got 2nd position.

Miss. Ammara Rahim Gul received her award from Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Mohammad Mian Soomro in Islamabad on 08/12/2007. Miss. Faiza Javed received her award from Chief Minister NWFP Mr. Shams ul Mulk at Archives Library Hall Peshawar on same date.

It is a matter of pride for Frontier Education Foundation to have achieved these positions and FEF is determined to help create a society free of all kinds of corruption.

An Inter Classes English and Urdu speech contest was held in FEF DCG Hayatabad on 04-03-2008.

Speech contest started with recitation from Holy Quran. Ms Asma students of 2nd year recited from few verses of Surah Al-Rehman.

Topics for Urdu Speech were:-

Ms. Hadia Amin of 1st year, Ms. Nabila of 4th year and Ms. Bushra Begum of 3rd year expressed their views in their speeches starting that Dialogue, written expression, tolerance and discipline is the requirements of the day. Gun cannot solve the problems.

They quoted the verse of Quran:

               Ms. Yumna Rehman student of 1st year and Ms. Yumna Ihtesham of 2nd year expressed their views on the topic “Nai Tehzeeb Takaluf Kay Siwa Kuch Nahi” that by living within means and following own culture makes one’s life easy and happy.

Topic of English Speech was:

Islam- “A Complete Code of Conduct”

Ms. Maryam of B.A I, Ms. Fatima of B.A I, & Ms. Salma student of B.A II participated in English speech contest. They stated that Islam is the religion of peace, harmony and tolerance. There is no place for terrorism in Islam. At the end certificates were distributed among the participants.

In this regard a prize distribution ceremony was held in FEF Degree College Hayatabad on 29- March 2008 in which Trophies and prizes were distributed among the winners.

Ms. Zaitoon Bano, Famous Writer, Poetess and Presidential Award Holder was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Ms. Munazza Intikhab Principal FEF Degree College Dabgari in her welcome speech briefed the audience about the activities of the FEF Colleges. Principal stated that Co-Curricular activities are regularly arranged in all FEF Colleges. Principal also mentioned that due to hard work of the lecturers of FEF Colleges, the students use to grab top positions in Board and University Examinations. She particularly mentioned FEF College Bannu and said that Bannu College got 08 positions out of top 10 positions of Bannu Board Inter results 2007.

Chief Guest in her speech advised the students to pay full attention to their studies and Co-Curricular activities equally. Nothing should come in between their studies. Only through education they can make Pakistan to lead the world.
In recognition to their Performances Prizes were distributed among the winners.
   
At the end Managing Director FEF Ms. Ali Begum in her speech appreciated the students for their good performance, results and discipline. M.D awarded Cash prizes to students in recognition to their performances.

Mehfil Milad was observed in FEF DCG Kohat on Friday, i.e. 16 November, 2007. in the college hall. All the students, teachers and guests from different schools and colleges attended in the Holy Mehfil Milad.

FEF DCG Kohat will celebrate college’s Annual Day from 26th to 28th January, 2009.

FEF Degree College for Girls, Nahaqi celebrated a literary week from 21st to 29th November, 2008. It included a series of co-curricular/literary activities. The main purpose was to inculcate the literary sense and to bring up the hidden potentialities of students under the supervision and guidance of teaching staff. Activities included English and Urdu Essays, Debate, Drama, Poetry, Speech, Inshaiya, English comic essay and Quiz programs. Students participated enthusiastically and wholeheartedly in all the above mentioned activities.

Throughout the week the winners of all activities had been notified by a panel of judges consisted of Principal and staff. The closing ceremony was held on 1st December, 2008 in which all the winners were awarded with trophies and certificates after they represented their selected items. These prizes were distributed among the winners by Madam Sofia Tabassum Principal FEF DCG, Nauthia & Miss. Azmat, a special guest representing MD FEF. All the honorable guests invited on the closing ceremony appreciated and enjoyed a lot. At the end of the ceremony the Principal of the college Ms. Anila Nazli distributed certificates and trophies among the organizers (teaching staff) of these activities.

Ms. Sofia Tabassum Principal of FEF Degree College for Girls Nauthia reports that Nazim Union Council-31 Mr. Safdar Khan Baghi is taking keen interest in the promotion of Education especially female Education. An Essay competition was held in FEF DCG Tangi on 12-Feb 2008 with the title of Over Population- A Hurdle in the Way of Economical Growth of Pakistan under the supervision of population welfare department. All the students from Ist year to 4th year participated keenly.

The Ist three positions are declared after the judgment done by Ms. Khizran and Ms. Shabina lecturers for English of the college. The prizes will be given in the prize distribution ceremony for different events of the college on 27th Feb 2008 by the hands of Managing Director FEF.

FEF Degree College for Girls Zaida(Swabi) have participated in Inter Colleges competition at District level, and have won the 1st Prize in Dry flower Arrangement, 2nd Prize in song competition and an encouragement Prize in Qirat.

FEF Degree College for Girls Zaida arranged a debate competition among its students on the occasion of Iqbal day. The topic of debate was

A speech contest was held at FEFA Kohat on November 19,2007. As part of promotion of English language.  Students from public and private sector of Kohat District participated in the contest. Five well chosen topics were given to the contestants for competition. Vice-Chancellor of Kohat University was the Chief Guest.

The session started at 11:00 AM with the recitation of Holly Quran Followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (S.A.W) presented by English Language Certificate Course (ELCC) students. ELCC student performed as stage secretary. The contest started on the basis of alphabetical order of the names of contestants. Col. Retd. Javed Ahmad and Dr. Lutfullah Kakakhel VC KUST addressed the audience before distribution of prizes and certificates.

It is worth mentioning that FEF has stated English Language Classes in Kohat with the help of NUML trained instructors. An English Language Lab is also being used to help achieve the goal in understanding and speaking of English language. Presently 40 individuals are getting training in the evening classes at FEFA.  

49th & 50th FEFA Training Courses (FTC) titled "Professional Course for Staff Development  (PCSD)" organized for Male &  Female lecturers of Govt. Colleges of  NWFP  will  commence on Jan 22, 2008 in Pakistan Forest Institute (PFI) Peshawar. Three weeks long course will  end on  February 12,  2008.  Official  nomination  letters have been  sent to the nominees from  Higher  Education Department Govt. of  NWFP.  The nominees are  directed  to ensure their arrival at PFI on January 21, 2008 in afternoon.

Minister for Education (Higher Education) NWFP/ Vice Chairman FEF Board of Directors Mr. Iftikhar Uddin Chamkani stressed upon the college teaching faculty to take their teaching profession as a mission and contribute meaningfully towards character building and personality development of students. Mr. Chamkani was addressing the participants of 49th and 50th FEFA Training Courses at the occasion of their closing & certificates’ distribution ceremony as Guest of honor. The Minister said, “We have 133 colleges in the province where more than 95,000 students are enrolled. The teaching staff in these colleges is more than 3600 whereas the provincial government is spending an amount of Rs. 1,318 million per annum on the development side. Keeping these figures in view, it had been very unfortunate that training of College sector human resource was always neglected in the past and there was no institution where we could train our lecturers. Resultantly, the young male and female lecturers once appointed were straight away sent to the Classroom to teach students without giving them any training as how to teach and treat the students”.

Mr. Iftikhar Uddin Chamkani, in his speech, admired the leadership qualities of the Managing Director FEF. He said, “Here I would like to admire the leadership qualities of Ms. Ali Begum, the Managing Director of FEF who is the first Civil Services lady officer from FATA to be promoted in BS 21, for her great contribution towards the strengthening of teacher training activities over the past two years in her capacity as MD FEF. She has encouraged, supported and motivated the staff of FEF Academy and is continuously engaged in seeking ways and means to further improve the training program”. He also appreciated the performance of FEF Academy and announced that he would recommend that FEFA staff should be regularized. He also announced one-month salary as bonus for the staff of FEF Academy in recognition of their hard work.

Director General Pakistan Forest Institute Raja Khalid Hussain, in his brief speech offered that till the establishment of Peshawar campus of FEF Academy, the Foundation could utilize the PFI campus and residential facilities for holding trainings. Director FEFA Dr. Mujeeb Tahir, in his welcome note, presented a brief introduction of FEF Academy and highlighted the performance of FEFA. He told that with the completion of current training courses, FEFA had trained 1240 personnel through 50 training courses and 3 short duration workshops.

Professor Dr. Hafeez Khattak Chairman of English Department, Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad was invited as Resource Person for 52nd FEFA Training Course, under progress since June 10, 2008 at FEF Academy Kohat. Dr. Hafeez Khattak, delivered lecture on Phonetics and Phonology.

Kohat: June 26, 2008: Mr. Abdullah, Chairman Tanzim-Lis- Sail-e- Wal- Mahroom (Ex Chairman NWFP Public Service Commission) delivered lecture to trainees of 52nd FEF Academy Kohat, training course titled as Intensive Functional English Course. He stressed upon English Language College Teachers to simplify the language for their students. He was of the opinion that English Teachers should only communicate in English not in any other language because translating words in languages other than in simple English created communication berries among students and teachers resulting into de-learning. Mr. Abdullah said that lacking freedom of expression at any level right from the home and classroom up to different professional levels resulted into total failure of any system. He stressed upon the teachers to face the questions of the students and try their best to satisfy them in a right way.

Closing Ceremony of 03 week long training course of FEF Academy titled as “Intensive Functional English Course” was held on June 30, 2008. Total 18 participants from Govt. Colleges including 7 Lecturers, 10 Assistant Professors and 1 Associate Professor have received training in the following fields.

Participants termed the course effective and beneficial in improving their Professional skills and expertise to operate the Lab. Director FEF Academy Dr. Mujeeb Tahir in his address appreciated the keen interest of participants in developing their teaching skills through English language lab. He urged upon the successful trainee’s to utilize the skills in their respective colleges.

On 10th training day i.e. Thursday (November 20, 2008) of 54th Training Course, in progress at Pakistan Forest Institute (PFI) Peshawar, Mr. Ahmad Khan (Special Secretary Elementary and Secondary Education NWFP) has imparted training to the course participants in the focal learning area “Efficiency and Discipline Rules”.

Three weeks long training course titled as PCSD-37(Professional Course for Staff Development) for male and female lecturers of Government Colleges is commencing from August 7 at FEF Academy Kohat.

53rd FEFA Training Course, organized for the male & female Lecturers of Government Colleges of NWFP has been inaugurated at FEF Academy Kohat. On the first training day the trainees have registered themselves as FEFA Trainees. The Inaugural, Orientation & Introductory Sessions were held. On 08th August 2008, Mrs. Salma Masood Khan will impart training to the trainees on a topic “Motivational Strategies for Effective Learning".

37th professional course for staff development (a 03-week training for lecturers of Government Colleges) was inaugurated by Ms. Saeeda Bano, Director of FEF Academy on August 07. The training course is being attended by male and female lecturers of Government College. Ms. Salma Masood Khan, a renowned educationist delivered lecture on “Motivational Strategies For Learning” on August 8, while Dr. Wazim Khan from Institute of Education & Research (IER) University of Peshawar is delivering lecture on “Instructional Strategies For Learning” today(August 9).

The participants of 37th Professional Course for Staff Development (PCSD) will learn how to improve Presentation Skills. Dr. Shujaat Ali Rahi from English Department of Kohat University of Science & Technology is the Recourse Person, today (Monday) at FEF Academy Kohat to help the trainees improve their Presentation Skills. On Saturday (August 9) Dr. Wazim Khan former Director of Institute of Education & Research University of Peshawar was the Resource Person. He delivered his lecture on “Instructional Strategies for Learning (Teaching a Scientific art)”.

On the 4th training day of the 53rd FEF Academy Training Course, in the progress at FEF Academy Kohat, the resource person Professor Dr. Shujaat Ali Rahi from English department of Kohat University of Science & Technology provided important tips to the trainees to improve their “Presentation Skills”

The 3rd FEFA Training Course titled as “37th Professional Course for Staff Development” designed for Lectures of Government Colleges, is heading towards its end with success. The Course will close on August 28, 2008. Mr. Javed Iqbal from Pakistan Academy for Rural Development (PARD) Peshawar delivered his lecture on August 12 on the topic “Initiating & Promoting attitudinal change”, while on August 13, Dr. M. Ibrahim Khattak, Chairman Department of English; Agriculture University Peshawar delivered his lecture on “Critical & Analytical thinking skills”. Dr. Hafiz Inam from IER, Kohat University of Science & Technology conducted his sessions on “Effective Learning” on August 15.

On the 9th training day of 53rd FEFA Training Course, in the progress at FEF Academy Kohat, the experienced / Knowledgeable personality Mr. Gulzar Jalal from Edward's College Peshawar was the Resource Person. He imparted training to the FEFA Trainees (Lecturers) on the topic " Improving Writing Skills ". Activities were also held. The trainees liked the training session conducted by Mr. Gulzar Jalal & termed them beneficial in their professional growth.

On the 12th training day of 53rd FEFA Training Course, in progress at FEF Academy Kohat, the knowledgeable personality Dr.Mujeeb Tahir, Director Planning FEF Peshawar was the Resource Person. He imparted training to the Lecturers ( FEFA Trainees) on the topic " Collateral Personality Development". Activities were also held. The trainees liked the training sessions conducted by Dr.Mujeeb Tahir and termed them beneficial in their professional growth.

On the 13th training day of 53rd FEFA Training Course, in progress at FEF Academy Kohat, the knowledgeable personality Pro.Dr.Wazim Khan from IER Department, University of Peshawar was the Resource Person. He imparted training to the Lecturers (FEFA Trainees) on the topic "Test Blue Print Desingning".The trainees liked the training sessions conducted by Pro.Dr.Wazim Khan and termed them beneficial in their professional growth.

Closing ceremony of 03 week long 53rd training course of FEF Academy titled as “Professional Course for Staff Development” was held on August 28, 2008. Total 16 lecturers from different Government Colleges received training in the following fields.

The 5th training workshop of Frontier Education Foundation Academy was concluded on 17th October at Pakistan Forest Institute (PFI) Peshawar. The workshop was organized for the staff of Government Colleges of NWFP in BPS 5-16 with the objectives to develop their skills in Computer (MS Office & Internet), Office Management and Financial Management. Mr. Ahmad Khan (Special Secretary Elementary & Secondary Education NWFP), Mr. Unab Gul (Deputy Director Provincial Audit NWFP), Mr. Iqbal Muhammad (Consultant) Ms. Farheen Qazi, Mr. Faridullah, Mr. Nangraiz Khan, Mr. Abid Ali & Mr. Dil Nawaz of the GIS/RS Computer Section of Pakistan Forest Institute (PFI) Peshawar and Staff of FEF Academy Kohat imparted training to the participants of the workshop.

The Chief Guest, Raja Muhammad Zarif, Director General Pakistan Forest Institute Peshawar, congratulated the successful participants of the training workshop and urged upon them to keep continued their daily practice using computer. He said that actual learning and skills development would only be ensured by trial and error method as Computer, a user friendly device itself, was a true trainer.

54th Training course of FEF Academy titled as 10th EMC (Execution Management Course) was inaugurated yesterday (November 12) at Pakistan Forest Institute Peshawar. Mr. Ahmad Hanif Orakzai Secretary to Govt. of NWFP Department of Higher Education, Archives and libraries was the Chief Guest at this occasion.

Hamid Khan Niazi delivered his lecture on Educational Planning & Management on 12th and 13th of November 2008 for the participants of 54th FEF Academy Training Course started on November 12, 2008 at Pakistan Forest Institute Peshawar.

On 13th training day of 54th Training Course of FEF Academy, in progress at Pakistan Forest Institute, Mr. Muhammad Faheem Director “PIFFRA” AG office NWFP conducted training session on “Principal as DDO (Drawing & Disbursement Officer)”. The Principals of Govt. Colleges were given various essential tips to be a good DDO for avoiding and responding audit observations.

PESHAWAR: November 25, 2008: 54th FEFA Training Course (i.e. 10th Executive Management Course) is in Progress at Academy’s Peshawar Campus in Pakistan Forest Institute Peshawar. The course is organized for the Principals, Professors & Associate Professor of government colleges of NWFP.

He urged them to serve at their colleges with all the knowledge and skills they acquired during the course. He was of the opinion that teacher was a leader and student were the followers. He said “if the leader is on the right track, the followers will be beneficial for the society”.

Professor Raja Mohammad Zareef, Director General PFI asked the successful course participants to nourish their students as gardeners do so for the plants.

Professor Dr. Omar Ali Khan from Gomal University D.I.Khan delivered lecture on Educational Planning & Management. On the 2nd day of 56th FEFA Training Course (PCSD-39,Male), in progress at FEF Academy Kohat, a learned educationist Prof. Dr.Omar Ali Khan from Gomal University resumed his previous topic “Educational planning & Management” activities were also held. The trainees appreciated the training sessions conducted by Prof. Dr.Omar Ali Khan & termed them beneficial in their professional growth.

Kohat:- February 14th , 2009: On the 3rd day of 56th FEFA Training Course (PCSD-39,Male), the renowned Scholar/ educationist Prof. Dr.Mehmooda Rehman, Dean City University Peshawar conducted training session on the topic “Participatory Approach to Ensure Effective Learning”

On the 4th day of 56th FEFA Training Course (PCSD-39), Prof. Shujaat Ali Rahi from Deptt. English, Kohat University of Science & Technology (KUST). He interacted with the Course participants on the topic “Improving Presentational Skills”. After his Presentation, he involved the trainees in various exercises followed by Demo - Presentation by the course participants.

Dr. Muhammad Shah, IER, Gomal University D.I.Khan delivered lecture on “Initiating and Promoting Attitudinal Change” at FEF Academy to the participants of 56th training Course who are male lecturers of Government College.

Yesterday (Feb 19), Dr.Safdar Rehman Ghazi from IER UST Bannu was the Resource Person. He delivered lecture on “Motivational Strategies for Learning”. Activities were also conducted in groups.

KOHAT: Friday, February 20th, 2009: On the 9th training day our Resource Person was Dr..Riasat Ali, Director IER UST Bannu. He shared his knowledge with the course participants on the topic “Modular Approach in Teaching”. Question/Answers session was also held among the Resource Person & all the trainees & that session was also appreciated & enjoyed by all the trainees.

On the 10th training day i.e Feb 23 the Resource Person Dr. Muhammad Zaighum from IER UST Bannu shared his knowledge with the course participants on the topic “Realization & Channelization of the developing emotional behavior of the teenager & Adult students”. At the end of the sessions Question/Answer session, activity based presentations were also held.

Today (Feb 25), Mr. Asif Khan, District Audit Officer Kohat is teaching “Purchase Procedures & Audit Rules & Service Matters”.

On the 14th training day Mrs. Musarrat Jabeen, Lecturer in English, GDC Kohat continued with the topic “Developing & Improving the English Language Speaking Skills”. The training session included practical activities in English Language Learning Lab.

Hafiz Sanaullah Chief Editor of Daily Frontier Star Peshawar shared his knowledge and experience with the course participants on the topic “Critical & Analytical Thinking & Writing Skills”.

Yesterday, each trainee gave a 10-minute presentation on his relevant subject. Prof Usman Principal GDC KDA Kohat was invited by the Academy to evaluate the presentations of the trainees.

Mr. Gulzar Jalal, Assistant Professor of English, Edward’s College Peshawar is imparting training to the participants of 57th FEFA Training Course on “Reading & Writing Skills”. The 57th training i.e.  Professional Course for Staff Development (PCSD-40) of Frontier Education Foundation Academy (FEFA) designed for 30 lecturers, was inaugurated by Mr. Umer Khan Afridi Commissioner Kohat on Thursday April 02, 2009 at FEF Academy Kohat. The inaugural ceremony was attended by Director Staff of FEF Academy and 13 participants of the training course. Lecturer Maroof Jan of Political Science subject was called back to her college by the directorate of HEC (College). On 3rd April, another 03 lecturers joined the participants.
